Tourist Boost Expected Following Barak Obama’s Bali Holiday

Barak Obama and family's recent trip to the Indonesian islands of Bali and Java is expected to lead to an increase in tourist numbers

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA, July 11, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Tourism in Indonesia has been given a further boost with Barak Obama recently spending a family holiday on the islands of Bali and Java, accompanied by his wife Michelle, and their two daughters Malia and Sasha. This was very much a family trip – as much as that may be possible for the ex-president of the USA. Clearly enjoying the time away, the family undertook a number of activities popular with visitors to Bali and Java.

It is hoped that following his visit, there will a boost in the numbers of tourists choosing to visit Bali, especially from the USA. Tourism in Bali has already seen a dramatic increase in the first five months of 2017, up nearly 24% on the same period in 2016. Broken down by country of origin, tourist numbers from the USA increased by 12.13% when comparing the first five months of 2017 to the same period in 2016, though their overall share fell slightly from 4.32% to 3.91% of overall visitors, according to official government statistics.

It is hoped that the visit of the Obama family will encourage more American tourists to visit Bali. "A good tourism image of Bali will attract more foreign tourists to visit the island," I Made Yuliarta, coordinator of the Pura Gunung Kawi tourist attraction was reported as saying. Furthermore, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya stated that "One of the best endorsements you can get in marketing is from celebrities. They could be an artist or a political figure, and Obama is an international figure. It will have a positive impact” Indonesia as a whole is aiming to attract 15 million visitors this year, with that number rising to 20 million by 2019.

Choosing to stay in the popular Four Seasons Resort in Ubud, a hill town in central Bali, the Obamas were seen out and about during a variety of tours and activities. Particularly well publicized was a white water rafting trip on the Agung River, where the family could be seen smiling and laughing as they navigated the white water rapids. They also visited the Tampaksiring Village, home to the famous Pura Tirta Empul or Holy Water Temple in Gianyar Regency, and the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Looking relaxed throughout, the family were seen taking photos themselves, as well as being the subject of many photos for both tourists and local residents alike.

Other destinations during their Bali stay included Tanah Lot Temple, Panadaw Beach, Uluwatu and Nusa Dua where Obama was seen buying souvenirs and heard speaking some Indonesian. Moving to Java, the Obama family spent time in Yogyakarta, visiting Borobudur, the 9th century Buddhist temple and the ancient Hindu Temple Prambanan. The trip concluded with Barak Obama making a speech in Jakarta at the Indonesian Diaspora Conference.

The holiday marked a return to a childhood home for Barak Obama. He moved to Jakarta in 1967, aged 6 when his mother married an Indonesian man, having divorced from Barak’s father. He lived in Indonesia for four years until he was ten years old, returning to Hawaii to live with his grandparents in 1971. It is during this time that Barak Obama developed a level of proficiency in the Indonesian language and the trip offered him the opportunity to share with his daughters one of his childhood homes.

If like the Obama family, you want to explore Bali, Bali Villas and More offer a wide range of hotel and villa accommodation on the island, and are experts in designing bespoke accommodation and tour packages. You can see the full range of villas on offer at www.balivillasandmore.com

Best Party Bus Rental Service

LimoTrac's new search tool provides direct access to limo companies in your area to more efficiently locate party buses that have bathroom facilities on board!

Limo Service Near Me – Limo Service You Can Rely On!”

— Andrew Lawrence

NEW YORK, MO, UNITED STATES, July 10, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Are you in need of a party bus rental for an upcoming event requiring luxury transportation services? Have you ever considered or know you can rent a party bus with a bathroom on board? A bathroom party bus rental provides the entire group an added convenience that will be enjoyed by all. When your rent a party bus in general versus a traditional stretch limousine or SUV limo, you and your group will enjoy the extra space to be able to stand up and move around. It makes for a much more social event when you don't have to crawl over or around people to change seats to socialize. When you have the added feature of a restroom built in, you will benefit from not having to make what often seams to be countless restroom stops when accommodating so many people. This is especially important if you are traveling any long distances between destinations or if you are on a time crunch getting to and from various locations along the way.

A party bus with a bathroom on board also comes in handy if you are renting your party bus for a football game or any sporting event or concert in which you will be having a tailgate party before the game or show. You can spend more time enjoying yourself at the tailgate party celebration rather than wasting time looking for and waiting in lines to use the public restrooms because you have your own restroom right at the tailgate party! The only real issue with renting a party bus with a restroom is finding limo service companies in your area that actually have them in their fleet for you to reserve. They can be hard to find and it can be very time consuming trying to locate them. Since the convenience of having a bathroom on borad is so high, these buses are more sought after than ever before, so finding the limo companies that have them to rent is one thing… having one available for the date you need is another thing.

LimoTrac, a national limo service and party bus rental search directory has a new search tool they have incorporated into their website which will help you quickly locate limo service companies in your area that have bathroom party bus rentals in their fleet. You just let LimoTrac know the date you need to rent the party bus, the city and state service is needed and the size group you will be accommodating and LimoTrac will do the rest for you! It makes your search much more time efficient and gives you a better opportunity to find the party bus or limo bus that you desire for your event or special occasion.

The Guadalupe Buddhist Church is one of the oldest Buddhist Churches of America (BCA) in California, established in 1909. The Santa Maria Valley has a unique and dramatic Nikkei history. In the early 1900s, the Japanese labor force grew to nearly 600 with the expansion of the Union Sugar Mill Company of Betteravia. By the 1910s, a cooperative, renamed the Guadalupe Japanese Association, supporting Japanese farm operations, included branches in Santa Maria, Oceano, Pismo and San Luis Obispo; and the Japantowns of Santa Maria and Guadalupe became commercial centers. While some Japanese ventured out as sharecroppers in the sugar beet fields in 1916, others began to farm other crops because of the decline in the industry.

Guadalupe became the town to visit for Japanese migrant workers who followed the crops from north to south, and for dignitaries from Japan who were intrigued by the small, but thriving agricultural town. Baseball enthusiast Setsuo Aratani proudly sponsored a team from the region in 1928 to compete in Japan.

After 20 Years, Former Host Mom Reunites with Exchange Student

Brenda, Chris and Chris’ daughter

Brenda and Chris’ natural parents

Chris with his wife and daughter

It was one of the best experiences of my life.”

— Brenda Ferland

PORTLAND, OR, UNITED STATES, July 6, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — In 1997, Chris left his native home of Germany to begin a life-changing adventure in the Unites States as an exchange student with a J-1 visa through a Department of State sponsor. Little did he know that he would reunite with his host mom 20 years later, after getting married, having a daughter and making a successful career for himself.

Brenda Ferland decided to host Chris, her first exchange student, because she wanted her sons Asa who was 13 and Zane, then 11 years old with a severe disability, to have an older brother and a positive role model in their lives. She saw an ad about hosting and chose Chris from Germany because of her family’s heritage. Chris integrated into their family smoothly and quickly, and Asa and Zane had a new big brother they always wanted.

Chris’ first week in the U.S. was not only full of the culture shock that most international students experience but the next morning after he arrived in Surprise, AZ, he drove 15 hours with his new host mom and host brothers for a family reunion Brenda had planned a year prior. Spending a significant amount of time in a car with someone is a perfect opportunity to bond and to get all of the preliminary questions out of the way. Brenda learned that Chris was excited to eat American fast food, play American football and experience an American prom, and within the first 24 hours of his arrival, Chris had met Brenda’s entire extended family.

Chris became addicted to Taco Bell and Mountain Dew, which hadn’t been introduced in Germany back in 1997. For the first 10 years or so, Brenda would mail Mountain Dew to Chris and his favorite Taco Bell hot sauce for his birthday and Christmas. Social media wasn’t as prevalent then as it is today, so Brenda and Chris kept in touch via email and phone and started to connect on Facebook in 2010. Around that time, Brenda learned Chris’ father, Peter was a pharmacist and was eager to learn how American pharmacy is practiced in the Unites States, so she introduced Peter to her personal pharmacist of 15 years. They remain friends to this day.

It’s clear Brenda’s love for student exchange extended beyond her first hosting experience. She had a love for culture, education, and travel and wanted to expand her ‘global family’ by hosting more exchange students year after year. After hosting a total of 14 students from various countries, Brenda’s fondest memories are with Chris, “Maybe it’s because he was my first student and we both learned so much that year. Or maybe because Chris just fit in perfectly with our family. He handled our busy life with daily football practice for Asa, weekend football games on Saturday, church on Sunday, and he adjusted well to Zane and his disability. It was one of the best experiences of my life.”

As a result of Brenda’s experience hosting Chris, she pursued a career in foreign exchange. This past June, Brenda had the opportunity to go to Germany for business. When she found out, she called Chris and told him her plans. They were both ecstatic, and Chris insisted that she stay in his home, meet his parents, his wife and his 2-year-old daughter.

“This is what it’s really all about. 20 years later and I am meeting my first exchange student's natural parents for the first time and my German granddaughter. Add in my "daughter in law", who I adore, and you have the perfect example of how my lifetime of hosting and working with exchange students has brought me so much joy.”

Hosting an exchange student is an opportunity of a lifetime for both the host family and the student and there are countless reasons why host families continue to host year after year, but here are the top 4 reasons:

You'll learn about a different culture
You and your family will gain a new perspective and understanding of other cultures and your children will increase their cultural awareness.

You'll get to be your hometown tourist
You'll see your community in a whole new light and might even learn something new about your own city and state.

You'll gain a friend for life
Our students and volunteer host families remain friends for years and even travel to the student’s home country to visit.

You'll have fun
This is a win-win situation. It’s fun getting to know someone new, and it’s exciting to watch your children flourish in a new environment.
