foodpanda and Gobear Malaysia present grand prize winner with trip to Japan

The campaign was a major success and learning curve for us. We were privileged enough to work with our best partners to bring the best of the world’s flavours to foodpanda customers.

— Mr Yannick Skop, Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, December 8, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ — KUALA LUMPUR: Who says ordering in doesn’t pay? For World Food Tour grand prize winner Alexandra Miu, it was her affinity for ordering in that chanced her upon the World Food Tour campaign – and the rest is history.

Alexandra, an expat working in Kuala Lumpur, recently took home the Grand Prize in the World Food Tour competition organised by foodpanda Malaysia, which was trip to Japan worth RM3,000 sponsored by GoBear Malaysia, Malaysia's first and unbiased financial comparison site for credit cards, loans & insurance.

She said: “I have always wanted to visit Japan! It is such a beautiful country and I thought it would be a good opportunity to order my meals from foodpanda and also try for the grand prize. Here I am today! Also, I am vegetarian so foodpanda has really helped me with my meal choices.”

foodpanda Malaysia launched its World Food Tour campaign in September, to celebrate its best restaurants and showcase the different cuisine types available on its platform. The campaign ran as a contest for 65 days, where participants were required to order food from the six different ‘trips’ around the world to unlock their World Food Tour map: Italian, Mediterranean, Far East, Tex-Mex, Malaysian and Japanese.

Mr Yannick Skop, Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia: “The campaign was a major success and learning curve for us, as it was a rare 2-month-long competition. We are happy to have rewarded our loyal customers through this competition, and we were privileged enough to work with our best partners to bring the best of the world’s flavours to foodpanda customers.”

"GoBear.com is thrilled to have partnered with foodpanda in this World Food Tour campaign. Similar to foodpanda where patrons have an array of food to choose from, GoBear.com places the power of choice in the consumer’s hand. Be it the best travel coverage for travel insurance, or the best dining credit cards, there is always something for everyone.” said Amelia Lim, Head of Marketing for GoBear Malaysia.

There were weekly prizes also up for grabs in the contest. The weekly prizes included RM1000 vouchers from beauty brand Althea, Lazada and Zalora, stay-overs at Swiss Inn Johor Bahru and Philea Resort & Spa, Malacca and a two-night stay in a ZenRooms hotel in either Phuket or Pattaya.
