NEW YORK, NY, USA, March 23, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Africa’s largest airline group, Ethiopian Airlines, is delighted to announce that it has finalized preparations to launch flights to three new destinations – Victoria Falls, Oslo and Antananarivo – within three days, 26-28 March 2017.

Heralding the launch of three new destinations in three days, Group CEO Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam said, “Three new flights to three new destinations in just three days is one of the greatest expansions in Ethiopian’s long and illustrious history. We are proud that we are able to link these new stations to the Ethiopian network in such a short period of time.

As of 28 March, our vast global network will add three new destinations which will further strengthen our leadership in the continent in connecting more cities in Africa to more cities in the world than any other airline; like 28 weekly flights to 4 destinations in China, 20 weekly flights to The Americas, 72 weekly flights to Asia, 65 weekly flights to Middle East, 400 weekly flights to 53 cities across Africa and almost daily 54 flights to Europe.

Victoria Falls, Oslo and Antananarivo are three of the seven new destinations to be launched during the first six months of 2017. Ethiopian started flights to Conakry in February 2017.

Before July, Ethiopian will start service to three destinations in Asia: Chengdu, Singapore and Jakarta. Ethiopian envisages reaching 120 international destinations worldwide by the year 2025.

We learned about hosting through a friend who posted about the need for host families on Facebook. One of my close friends from my junior year in high school was a German foreign exchange student, and I was immediately excited about the opportunity. Although my husband thought I might be crazy, we love having a house full of kids. So, we jumped in with 9 days left to find families for our school district. We ended up choosing a German son named Lukas. We couldn’t tell by his application how he would blend in with our family, but he ended up being a perfect fit. His sense of humor fit right in with our family’s, and he brought a new sense of adventure to our home. We were stuck in the monotony of day to day life, soccer and water polo practice, scout meetings, PTA meetings, work etc. Lukas coming into our home opened our eyes to appreciate little things we took for granted about being American and about living in what we thought was a boring city.

When Lukas left in June that following year, we felt a piece of our family missing. We thought we could never “replace” him and were hesitant to host again. It would never be that good again, right? We ended up relocating from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Charlotte, North Carolina that summer and were contacted about hosting again. We thought we would play it safe with a six-month commitment (we ended up wishing it was a full year) and decided to go forward with hosting Louisa from Germany. We took the plunge again and somehow hit the jackpot twice in a row! Although Louisa fit in with our family perfectly, it was in a very different way than Lukas did. Her differences were what made it great. Louisa didn’t, in fact, replace Lukas, she just added to our international family. After hosting Louisa, we were hooked and have hosted another girl, an Italian named Francesca. Again, a perfect fit for our family, just in a different way. Just like our own children, whom we love equally but in very different ways, we have learned to love these children as our own. Hosting has been a blessing to our family and something I can’t recommend enough. We have learned about Germany, Italy, and several other countries by being a part of the ETC community. But most importantly, we have learned about love.

NAPLES, FLORIDA, USA, March 21, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — An intensive search of the medical literature has revealed no research yet on whether Zika mosquitoes could occasionally transmit HIV, reports Leslie Norins, MD, PhD. He says investigating this possibility is important because Miami-Dade in 2016 led the U.S. in both cases of domestically transmitted Zika virus and in new infections with HIV. He urges research be planned now for the summer mosquito season.

Dr. Norins, who trained as a physician-scientist, has been a medical publisher for 40 years. His findings appear on Analizir.com.

He was stimulated by a theoretical scenario: a mosquito sucking blood from a person infected with both Zika virus and HIV. Could that insect then transmit both infections, or only one? And who would believe a chaste male claiming the mosquito which gave him Zika also gave him the AIDS which developed a year later?

Official doctrine asserts that mosquito transmission of HIV doesn’t happen, says Dr. Norins. But tracing back the origins of this widely-repeated belief, he found it is based on only two scientific papers, both almost 30 years old. And these have weaknesses, he believes.

One was a 1988 field study, in rural Belle Glade, Florida, 85 miles north of Miami. An epidemic of 93 AIDS cases there caused national alarm when mosquitoes were mentioned as possible transmitters.

Government investigators concluded that 59 could be “directly” linked to another AIDS case. But only 30 had “risk factors” of homosexuality or I.V. drug abuse. The remaining 29 were unexplained.

For another 35, heterosexual contact was, strangely, labeled a risk factor, though it is not one in the U.S. Apparently, there was a kind of profiling, since a footnote says that back in Haiti heterosexual spread of AIDS was common. The inference was that since these heterosexuals were from Haiti, their national origin explained their AIDS.

The second study, in 1989, was a laboratory one, using mosquitoes under artificial conditions. An unusual genus was chosen, the “elephant mosquito”. It does not suck blood, or transmit any human diseases. Injected HIV survived briefly, but did not grow. The relevance of this to what occurs in nature is not clear.

Dr. Norins recommends a research push in Miami in summer to trap and assay Zika mosquitoes that may have fed on HIV-positive patients, plus laboratory experiments using Zika mosquitoes and HIV.
