Adobe Rent a Car Details Its Airport Pickup Process and Shuttle Service at SJO and LIR

The Costa Rican company describes how vehicle pickup works at both international airports, including its terminal desk, shuttle service and operating hours.

SAN JOSé, COSTA RICA, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Adobe Rent a Car, a car rental company founded in Costa Rica in 1990, details how its airport pickup process works at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in Alajuela and Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, the country's two main gateways for international visitors. The company operates offices near both airports and provides shuttle service in both directions at no cost.

Context: the first hours after arrival

For most international visitors, collecting a rental vehicle is one of the first steps after landing in Costa Rica. Wait times and unclear procedures at pickup are among the aspects travelers ask about most often before booking, particularly during peak arrival hours.

The process at Juan Santamaría (SJO)

At SJO, Adobe staffs a desk inside the airport terminal. On arrival, travelers go to the Adobe desk and provide their reservation details, and the team coordinates shuttle transport to the Adobe airport office located approximately 3 km away. Travel time may vary depending on traffic. The rental contract is signed and the vehicle handed over at that office.

When the reservation includes a flight number, Adobe uses that information to follow the estimated arrival time and coordinate the vehicle handover. Travelers should notify Adobe as soon as possible of any change or delay in their itinerary to avoid the reservation being considered a no-show.

Customer Service can be reached by WhatsApp at +506 8499 6000 (written messages only) or by email at servicioalcliente@adobecar.com. For immediate assistance, travelers can call the 24/7 Emergency line at +506 2542 4888.

If a flight arrives after midnight, the vehicle will be delivered the following day at a time previously coordinated with Customer Service. This requires advance coordination.

Returns at Daniel Oduber (LIR) and nationwide coverage

At LIR in Guanacaste, the airport office operates daily from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Returns take place at the airport office at the time indicated on the reservation. Staff inspect the vehicle and close the contract, after which travelers use the shuttle service back to the terminal.

Office hours may vary on holidays or due to operational conditions, so travelers requiring pickup or return outside regular hours should confirm arrangements in advance.

Beyond the two airports, Adobe operates a network of 16 offices across the country, which allows pickup and drop-off near each itinerary.

Vehicle and pricing information

Vehicles are collected at the office from a fleet of around 3,000 units, between 24 and 30 months old, renewed on a continuous basis.

The price confirmed at booking remains unchanged as long as there are no changes to the rental dates, times, return location, vehicle category or selected services. At vehicle pickup, customers may be offered optional products or services, such as Supplemental Protection Plan (SPP) coverage, Wi-Fi or other accessories; accepting any of these options may increase the final rental amount.

The Supplemental Protection Plan (SPP) coverage carries zero deductible and covers damage to the vehicle and to third parties, vandalism, tires, glass, partial or total loss, and roadside assistance, with up to US$100,000 for third-party damage and US$2 million for injury or death.

The security deposit is a US$1,000 hold on a credit card, an authorization rather than a charge. Once the rental is completed and the contract is closed, Adobe requests release of the hold; the time for the funds to become available again depends on the issuing bank and usually takes between 10 and 15 business days.

If an Adobe representative is not present at the airport desk, travelers can contact Customer Service via WhatsApp at +506 8499 6000 (written messages only) or by email at servicioalcliente@adobecar.com. For immediate assistance, they can call the 24/7 Emergency line at +506 2542 4888.

Statement

“The first hour after landing shapes the start of a trip. Having a desk inside the terminal, providing shuttle transport and explaining the conditions in advance is how we organize that step,” said Viviana Gómez, Head of Marketing at Adobe Rent a Car.
