Galaxy Entertainment Group and Macao University of Tourism Development Foundation Held Donation Agreement Signing Ceremony
MACAU, September 24 - Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and Macao University of Tourism Development Foundation (UTMDF) Donation Agreement Signing Ceremony was held at the Forward Building on Taipa campus of the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) on 24 September 2026. Dr. Cheung Kin Chung, Chair of the Executive Committee of UTMDF, and Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, signed the donation agreement. GEG has donated MOP 1 million to UTMDF. The donation will support UTM’s academic development and institutional advancement, including optimising the learning environment, enhancing teaching and research quality, and expanding international cooperation, to drive the high‑quality development of UTM.
Ms. Cen Jiayi, Director of the Department of Education and Youth Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. Carlos Roberto Xavier, Head of the Department of Higher Education of the Education and Youth Development Bureau; Dr. Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan, Rector of UTM, together with Ms. Linda Wong, Assistant Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG, officiated at the ceremony. In addition, members of the UTMDF and the UTM Council, representatives of the UTM Student Union and Alumni Association, as well as faculty and students, attended the event.
Dr. Cheung Kin Chung, Chair of the Executive Committee of UTMDF, expressed gratitude for GEG’s generous donation. He noted that Macao is advancing the “1+4” appropriate economic diversification strategy, with the integrated tourism and leisure industry as its core pillar. Its transformation and upgrading hinge on in-depth industry-academia integration. As a benchmark enterprise in Macao’s integrated tourism and leisure industry, GEG has long been committed to corporate social responsibility, regarding talent nurturing as a vital component for the sustainable development of the industry. This donation will further deepen the strategic university-enterprise collaboration. It is expected to integrate industrial resources into teaching, translate academic research into benefits for the industry, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, talent and industrial resources, and achieve a win‑win scenario covering talent cultivation, talent pooling and industrial advancement.

This marks the second in a series of donation ceremonies with integrated tourism and leisure enterprises. Further similar events will be organised in partnership with more leisure enterprises to pool resources from all sectors of society in support of UTM’s development. These efforts will help Macao integrate into national development initiatives and consolidate the talent base for high‑quality cultural‑tourism development in the Greater Bay Area.
